CORE
SYSTEMS

Kova is designed so one problem can quickly become another. Preparation is not optional—it is progression.

01
SURVIVAL

Survival Needs

Manage hunger, thirst, injuries, illness, temperature, fatigue, and environmental exposure before a small problem turns into a chain of failures.

  • Carry enough food and water for the route.
  • Treat injuries before they compound.
  • Plan around exposure and exhaustion.
02
THREAT

Infected & World Threats

Infected are pressure, not target practice. Every unnecessary engagement costs ammunition, durability, medicine, time, stamina, or attention.

  • Noise and poor positioning create risk.
  • Avoid fights that do not serve the objective.
  • Always preserve an exit route.
03
LOGISTICS

Looting & Inventory

A full inventory is not automatically a useful inventory. Carry what supports your next objective and leave room for the unexpected.

  • Prioritize utility over random value.
  • Keep room for mission-critical finds.
  • Weight and space are part of route planning.
04
PROGRESSION

Crafting & Progression

Turn recovered materials into treatment, tools, storage, repairs, equipment, and long-term options through workstations and progression systems.

  • Recovered materials have purpose.
  • Preparation unlocks better options.
  • Progression rewards consistent survival.
05
ECONOMY

Trading & Economy

Use NPC traders and clear player-to-player agreements to turn supplies into opportunity without exposing hidden economy values.

  • Supplies remain meaningful.
  • Trade can reduce personal risk.
  • Trust is part of the economy.
06
COORDINATION

Crews & Squads

Coordinate objectives, property, rally points, communication, and responsibilities while remaining within the published group limit.

  • Maximum crew size: 6 players.
  • Clear roles improve extraction success.
  • Group limits still apply during coordination.
07
FORTIFICATION

Base Building & Raiding

Build a defensible home using intended mechanics. Bases must remain accessible, performance-conscious, and raidable under the current rules.

  • 1 base per person, 2 per group.
  • New-base protection: 2 days.
  • Raid rules and windows remain mandatory.
08
RECOVERY

Death & Recovery

Loss has weight. Rebuild through legitimate knowledge, preparation, and player interaction rather than death-screen information or alternate-character shortcuts.

  • Recovery is part of the survival loop.
  • Knowledge should come from legitimate play.
  • Loss should matter without ending progression.
